Trainheroic

In early 2012, I joined a team reimagining how to deliver professionally created training programs to athletes and provide coaches with a platform for analyzing performance and motivating athletes. As athletes ourselves we saw a gap in the quality of the training we were receiving and what was needed to be competitive within the athletic space. I managed both the design and development team to deliver the product on schedule. Helped raise the initial seed round of funding and gain early customer adoption.

You guys are right on the money. This is going to be awesome!

Working with Rule29 created the initial version of the product that included the following core functionality:

  • Challenges - added gamification element to allow athletes to compete with each other
  • Groups - provide group specific training
  • Leaderboards - see how you stack up to the competition
  • Performance - view your own performance over time
  • Stats - see how you are improving at each exercise and overall

The web application was completely mobile responsive and optimized to function as a mobile web app. We set up iPad kiosks in our initial beta customers gyms to increase engagement and usage of the product.
